1. BBC news -- “ History of BBC“

<<Goodness Gracious Me>>12 January 1998.

He introduced a TV debut on January 12, 1998. It's a comedy tradition sketch show, like Not the Nine O 'clock News and the Fast show, produced by British asians. It offers a new and fresh perspective. The comedy was created by Sanjeev Bhaskar and Meera Syall and produced by Anil Gupta. They co-star with Nina vadia and Kurt Wendell gere. In a famous sketch, a group of noisy indians are out on a night out in mumbai. They go "for  English".I think what attracted me to this story was that the satirical sketches appeared together with those stupid characters and slogans, which reflected the social situation at that time.

2."Pregnant? Don't want to be? Call Jane at 643-3844"

Link:https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000djx2

A student at the university of Chicago, in 1965, a friend's sister was distraught and nearly killed herself because of an unplanned pregnancy, and her friend wanted to know that she could be in any country where abortion was illegal and there was little guarantee of a woman's health or safety if she were indeed safe. Ms. Booth contacted the civil rights leader, the surgeon T.R.M. Howard, who performed her abortion, and word quickly spread that she could help women get safe abortions. Under the pseudonym Jane, she began receiving calls from other women in her Chicago dorm room. During that time, the women performed more than 11,000 abortions.

In this documentary, what interests me most is hearing the archives from that era, the interviews with the police who investigated Jane, the voices from the city, and the new interviews with members of Jane.

3.<< Sings Disney Songs>>

Link:https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b018jpk4/-sings-disney-songs

The BBC launched The Mouse, a wonderful and sometimes confusing hodgepodge of styles and eras that combines everything from light entertainment to children's television and celebrates The interpretation of Disney music over The past 40 years. "When you wish upon a star" and "zip-a-doo-dah" are the highlights, and celine dion and Elton John's latest pop songs bring us the latest. The clips are from the weekly show with Shirley bassey, It's Lulu, Top of the Pops, Blue Peter, brubeck and Louis Armstrong. The whole song is in the form of a musical, mostly with light melodies and plots, which I think is very interesting. I'm also a Disney fan. I love Disney culture so much that this song attracted me.

40 hours

My inspiration for this project came from a piece of news “What happens to your body when you work more than 40 hours a week“. It got me thinking about what we were doing most often for a while and what kinds of questions we often ask ourselves. So I recorded my 40 hours of what I was thinking about for 40 hours and then picking the one that I was most interested in. At the same time, I was also thinking about how to visually present this problem, so I found some ideas of book binding on Pinterest to help me think.

Cy Twombly

Cy Twombly is an abstract artist from America. His work is known for its magical use of white, its combination of scribbling, sketching, graffiti and painting. His abstract works combine techniques of drawing and sketching, using repetitive lines, vocabulary and graffiti. I think his works are colorful, diversified and interesting, which is also one of my favorite artistic styles.

Ettore Spalletti

Ettore Spalletti was born in 1940 in Italy and is an Italian minimalist artist. His works always have a strong sense of space, but not limited to the space at all, seeking balance in the minimalist geometric framework. He created an artistic language between painting and sculpture, light and shadow and space, paying tribute to modern abstract art and the geometric paintings of the Renaissance. Ettore Spalletti breaks down the boundaries of the artist's area or ideology, allowing one to view the interior and the open exterior through a fictional frame, and to be closely surrounded by it. I saw his works, and I found that when I was creating, I could break some conventional thinking and maybe find something new. I will also apply his creative ideas in the future artwork.

Keigo

One of the illustrators I investigated was from Keigo, Japan. I first got to know him and his works because of his first manga, my life can't be so bad. His cartoons are inspired by everyday things. They are interesting and realistic and can resonate with the author.

There is almost no text, just a list of topics based on the comics, and each little topic always resonates with the reader. For example, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, daily desperation starts with taking the subway, weight loss is more difficult than going to work, waking up to the alarm clock, falling asleep in the morning meeting, worrying about what to eat for lunch every day, and looking forward to the weekend. Keigo sees these routines as a source of inspiration for his imagination. His seemingly random doodles paint brightly colored works with cute characters and absurd stories. So, after his design, actually produced a laugh line, and bring some "with the comfort of life", this is the charm of his creation. In his work I find that life may not be as good as we think, but it's not as bad. Keigo used a paintbrush to record these awkward moments in ordinary life, and with a little more imagination than ordinary people can create infinite possibilities. This is also what I need to learn. When I am thinking about inspiration, I can use daily trivialities to create, or I can create different works.

Nimura Daisuke

Nimura Daisuke was born in Osaka, Japan in 1987. After graduating from high school, he began to specialize in illustration and became a professional illustrator. Today, he mainly designs and illustrations for magazines, books and advertisements. His chat emojis can also be purchased on line. I found the illustrator on instagram. At that time, his illustrations also attracted me. I think the illustrations and gifs he created are humorous and straightforward, and the young characters drawn with simple bold lines are full and lovely. I love his simple illustrations, and seeing his illustrations makes me feel this way. He shows the things that make people feel shy and embarrassing, which are funny and humorous. People want to save them to their mobile phones immediately after they see them. Such pictures can display some embarrassing and private things openly and make people think it is a funny thing. In my illustration, I also used his simple and lovely painting style. I think I can present what I want to express in an interesting way. One of his illustrations shows a serious face with a mischievous childishness. The young lovers in his works are ordinary and lovely. Their expressions are dull and their movements are stiff, but they always convey a warm friendship. I think watching his works will convey the ordinary life to the audience and make people love life more and feel that life is beautiful. I think this is also a beautiful form of illustration and social significance. I will also learn from him in my future illustration works.

1103 Research section

  1. What strategies have they used to initiate their interactions?                                                                The artist — Andy Warhol, was an American artist, director, and producer who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. He took images from the mass media and repeated them on the screen as the basic elements, trying to completely eliminate the manual element of artistic creation. It is this unique monotony, boredom and repetition that accurately hit the reality of some indifference, emptiness and alienation in the contemporary commercial civilization.

2. How successful were the interaction? What do think made them successful?

I think one of his greatest successes was that his art was unconventional. In his work, the pattern presented is simple and clear, with a clean, geometric, mechanical mode, the huge logo announcing its commodity identity. Although painters in the past mostly depicted life, they focused on commercial objects placed in the center of the canvas, which was a great idea at that time. This completely breaks the boundary between the high and the popular. He became a successful illustrator at the time. Ultimately, he was the leader of the pop art visual art movement.

3. Did the interaction element make the work more memorable? Why?

I think it will make it memorable. Warhol's 1962 "Marilyn Monroe double", for example, used images from the mass media as the basic elements of the repeated arrangement on the screen, trying to completely eliminate the manual element of artistic creation. It is this unique monotony, boredom and repetition that accurately hit some of the realities of indifference, emptiness and alienation in contemporary commercial civilization, making people unforgettable.

Caiguoqiang

I recently watched a YouTube documentary by Cai GuoQiang, a Chinese artist, which I thought was very interesting. The video introduces his artistic expression, including painting, installation, video recording and performing arts. During his stay in Japan from 1986 to the end of 1995, he continued to explore the artistic technique of creating paintings with gunpowder from his hometown of Quanzhou China, gradually expanding the blasting scale and form of his works, and establishing the famous outdoor blasting plan. His famous art of gunpowder blasting and large-scale installations are full of vitality and explosive power, transcending the plane and moving from interior space into society and nature. He takes eastern philosophy and contemporary social issues as the starting point of his works, local cultural history. He roams the globe visually with the power of art and his powerful work. His artistic expression form is very different and bold, I like and hope to have access to such installations in the future, blasting art, can fully and boldly show their ideas, is also a form of modern people very eager.

Yan Peiming

Yan peiming is famous in the international art world for his large scale black and white portraits. The portraits range from historical figures to political leaders, from serial killers to female prisoners, to artists themselves. His work focuses more on the composition of close-ups of faces and the expressive brushwork that describes these portraits; The combination of its smooth and accurate painting techniques and plane painting space creates works that are iconic, memorable and direct to people's hearts. When I saw his work, mainly in black and white, it was shocking and frightening. The faces of these characters are daubbed out in a wild and arbitrary way, weird, paradoxical, dark, angry, terrifying, and powerful at the same time sad.I think he vividly expressed a person's form or what he wanted to express in his works, which is why I like his works. In future portraits, I can also learn his style to create and design.

Keith Haring

Keith Haring was an American street artist and activist in the 1980s.Most early, he's in New York subway station used in white chalk, graffiti, mostly coarse contour line, monochrome, hollow abstract people, animals, such as design, his work is always a complex patterns, all sorts of design is full of the whole composition, often without perspective, no skin texture, but has many symbolic of affection, such as barking dogs, kneeling on the little people, etc. His work was sketched in simple, quick, crisp, and without modification. At first glance, it looks like a child's painting. Indeed, those images -- symbol images, we are not unfamiliar, combined into a lively and interesting picture. In his works, I found that they were not only full of joyful little figures, but also a large number of symbolic images of sex. The painting techniques were smooth, simple and clear, with a strong sense of game and entertainment. The themes were clear and easy to understand, mostly related to love, peace, sex, war and other world issues. These can also be used as inspiration for later design and his concise design style is also my favorite. His works have vivid colors and visual impact.

Liuye

Liuye is a Chinese artist. The first time I saw his work was on the Internet, when he gave a portrait of a Chinese artist to be auctioned . This portrait is in the form of a fairy tale character. His works are candid cartoon images and fairy tales. I think his work is very touching to me. It is a unique style of painting. His paintings are beautiful, lovely and bright, but not as simple as a cartoon. His brushes are very meticulous. In addition, in many of his works, behind the beauty, but always let people feel a bit of evil, such as his paintbrush of tearful beauty, suicide of romeo, a little SM passion of female teachers, holding a pig girl…There is also some irony in his style of painting. I think this is the embodiment of diversification, which makes artwork more interesting. I can also use such elements in my illustration and future artwork. He is also a Chinese artist whom I like very much. In his works, I can see that the contents are different from the traditional ones and innovative.

Murakami Takashi

Murakami Takashi is an influential artist among Japanese artists and an icon for young people in Japan and around the world. He's really famous in my life, like uniqlo T-shirt co-branded with his brand, LV bag co-branded with him. My favorite idol (G-dargon, a Korean singer ) also wears his brand a lot, which makes me want to know more about the brand and the artist.

He said:“ Western contemporary art is very different from Japanese art. What is important is how our generation can create the most essential things without any inherent cultural system.” In his works, he not only combines the contrasting elements of eastern tradition and western civilization (both traditional and innovative), but also retains the entertainment and appreciation of his works. Is a combination of contemporary popular Japanese cartoon art and traditional Japanese painting style characteristics of the product. It is worth mentioning that the works are interesting. Murakami incorporated a variant of Mickey Mouse into his works (Mr. DOB) and regarded it as his avatar and a unique visual symbol.

I am very interested in many of his innovative works (sculptures, patterns). I like his style, it's very interesting, and I also want to make my work more interesting in ordinary life.

Richard Serra

Richard Serra is an American sculptor and master of minimalism. His works are famous for their spectacular abstract sculptures of sheet metal fabric, which have a mysterious power and give people a shocking and complex perception and attraction. His pioneering art explores the displacement relationship between works of art, space and audience. When I first saw his work on the website, I had a new feeling different from other artists. Some artists will make the artwork very detailed or let the audience understand the meaning of the artwork at a glance. But his works can not be understood at a glance, and need more time to think, which makes me more interested. With the most basic elements of plastic art: line, surface, volume, weight and space, he makes the audience have different reactions: they feel attracted, pushed, protected and threatened; Or feel a power…This style is also one that I can use for reference in artwork in the future. I am really interested in this kind of art style.
